Financial Aid

How much does it cost?

  • Total costs are approximately $5,000 (CAD) per year, $10,000 (CAD) for domestic students the Program.
  • Domestic Full-Time Students: Tuition for one year is currently payable in three installments a year of $1,421.29 (CAD), in each September, January and May. In the second year, if students complete the program early (eg. by December), they will not have to pay the last January/May installments. A minimum of three installments must be paid in total.
  • Domestic Part-Time Students: Tuition for one year is currently payable in three installments a year of $812.30 (CAD), in each September, January and May. A minimum of nine installments must be paid in total.
  • International Graduate Student Fees will change from year to year and are set by the Unviersity. Please refer to: http://www.students.ubc.ca/calendar/index.cfm?tree=14,271,813,935 2008 International Student Master's Graduate Student Fees for 2011 are $7,490.88 (CAD) per year.
  • Mandatory UBC student fees are additional and estimated at approximately $600 (CAD) per year.

Financial Assistance

Funding may be available to individual students in the form of scholarships, bursaries, and student loans. Student who are paying full time fees are eligible to apply for student loans.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies is responsible for merit-based graduate awards at the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. Visit the web site for detailed information.
